The Village of Lazy Lake is a genuine rarity: an incorporated municipality of a few dozen residents (33 at the 2020 census) on a single street, also named Lazy Lake, wrapped around a small lake that began as a flooded rock quarry. It was founded in 1946, incorporated in 1953, and is completely surrounded by Wilton Manors. It is the smallest municipality in Broward County by area.

With only a handful of homes, every roof in the village is custom in its own way, and most sit right on the water. Lazy Lake roofers need to plan carefully around tight lots, mature trees and lakefront yards.
