Homeowners and communities in south Palm Beach County have rated A-1 5.0 on Google. Read what they say about our tile work, how we coordinated with their HOA, and how cleanly we left their property.
Our shop in Pompano Beach is only a few minutes south of the Palm Beach County line, which makes Boca Raton, Delray Beach and Boynton Beach some of the closest cities we serve. Since 2012, A-1 Roofing & Waterproofing Restoration has worked on homes, country club communities and commercial buildings in the southern half of the county.
Palm Beach County has 39 municipalities plus large unincorporated areas. Cities such as Boca Raton and West Palm Beach run their own building departments, while unincorporated communities like Boca West are permitted through the county’s Planning, Zoning and Building Department. We know which office handles your address before we quote.
Some of our most detailed projects have been here, including replacing every balcony with tile on a Boca Raton estate and replacing the roof and commercial roofing system on a women’s health center in Boca Raton.
Palm Beach County is outside the High-Velocity Hurricane Zone, but that does not make it an easy place to build a roof.
The Florida Building Code limits the HVHZ to Broward and Miami-Dade. Palm Beach roofs follow the statewide wind provisions and Florida Product Approvals instead of HVHZ-specific approvals.
County wind maps put ultimate design wind speeds for typical homes at roughly 150 to 170 mph, with higher values for critical buildings. Coastal homes near the Intracoastal sit at the upper end.
Palm Beach County adopts its own local amendments to the Florida Building Code, and individual cities set their own permit checklists. Requirements can change between Boca Raton and unincorporated Boca a few blocks apart.
Gated and country club communities often require architectural approval for tile profile, color and even ridge details before a permit can be filed. We provide samples and product data for the review.
We concentrate on the southern and central coast: Boca Raton and its unincorporated neighbors, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach. Barrier island and Intracoastal homes need corrosion-resistant fasteners and flashing and more frequent roof inspections. Inland communities west of I-95 tend to have large tile roofs where slipped tiles and aging underlayment cause most leaks.
No. Only Broward and Miami-Dade are in the HVHZ. Palm Beach County still has some of the highest design wind speeds in the country, so roof attachment, underlayment and flashing must be engineered for strong hurricane winds.
It depends on your address. Incorporated cities such as Boca Raton, Delray Beach, Boynton Beach and West Palm Beach have their own building departments. Unincorporated areas are permitted by the county’s Planning, Zoning and Building Department.
For repairs we source the closest available profile and color. For a replacement we help you choose a tile your HOA will approve and handle the submittal details for you.
Often, yes. A wind mitigation inspection on form OIR-B1-1802 documents roof deck attachment, roof-to-wall connections and secondary water resistance, which insurers use to apply discounts. See our wind mitigation inspections.
From Boca Raton to West Palm Beach, we will inspect your roof, photograph what we find and give you a written price. Book now for 25% off any leak repair. Licensed CCC1333587 | CBC1263521.
