Good products only perform when they are installed correctly. Here is what customers say about the care our crews take on prep, detailing and cleanup.
No single product waterproofs everything. A coating that works on a roof may wear through on a garage ramp, and a membrane made for a balcony may not suit a wall below grade. That is why we work with a small set of proven manufacturers and match the system to the surface.
We install systems from Tremco, Sikalastic by Sika and TechCrete by Alchemco. Each covers a different set of problems, and between them we can handle nearly every waterproofing job we see in South Florida.
Just as important, we follow each manufacturer’s instructions for surface prep, primers, thickness and cure time. Most coating failures we are called to fix come down to shortcuts during installation, not bad products. We never cut corners.
A plain-language look at each product family and where we use it. Exact products are chosen after we inspect your building.
Tremco makes commercial sealants, below-grade and above-grade waterproofing, and the Vulkem line of pedestrian and vehicular traffic coatings. We use Tremco for joints, window perimeters, decks and garages.
Tremco Roofing offers roof systems and restoration coatings for low-slope commercial roofs. As a Tremco certified contractor, we install these systems on flat and low-slope roofs.
Sikalastic is Sika’s family of liquid-applied membranes for roofs, balconies, terraces and walkways. They cure into a seamless, flexible layer that wraps around details and penetrations.
TechCrete is a spray-applied concrete protection product that penetrates the surface instead of forming a film on top. Alchemco markets it for parking structures, balconies, below-grade and other concrete.
Owners and property managers often search for a Tremco waterproofing contractor or a Sikalastic contractor because their engineer or architect has specified those products. We are comfortable working from a specification, and we will tell you if we see a detail in the field that needs attention before work begins.
If you do not have a specification, we recommend a system after inspecting the surface. On a sound flat roof, that might be a restoration coating. On a balcony over living space, a reinforced liquid membrane. On a concrete garage deck exposed to salt air, repairs followed by a traffic coating or a TechCrete treatment.
For roofs, we also install silicone roof coating and R400 rubber roofing as part of our waterproofing services.
5 to 15 yrs
Our waterproofing installations include a written workmanship warranty of 5 to 15 years, depending on the system and scope. Manufacturer warranties vary by product and project.
The choice is based on the building, not on what is sitting in the truck.
Concrete, metal, membrane, stucco or tile. Each needs a compatible primer and product.
Direct sun, ponding water, salt air, or constant dampness below grade.
No traffic, foot traffic, or vehicles turning and braking on the surface.
Color, texture, tile or a clear treatment, and the life you want from the system.
Yes. A-1 Roofing & Waterproofing Restoration is Tremco Certified, and also GAF Certified and certified for GE silicone roof coatings.
Usually, yes. We regularly work from engineer and architect specifications, including Tremco and Sika products, and follow the specified details.
A coating forms a film on top of the surface. A penetrating product like TechCrete soaks into the concrete and works from within, leaving the surface looking much the same.
Some projects qualify for a manufacturer warranty depending on the system, the building and the manufacturer’s requirements. We will explain what is available for your job. Our own written workmanship warranty is 5 to 15 years.
