Homeowners Who Stopped Climbing Ladders

Gutter guards are about peace of mind. Read what South Florida homeowners say about our crews, how carefully we worked around their roofs, and how the job looked when we were done.

Gutter guard installation done around your roof

Gutter guards cover the top of the gutter so rain gets in and debris stays out. In South Florida that debris is a mix of oak and ficus leaves, palm seeds and fronds, and the fine granules and grit that wash off every roof. Left alone, it clogs outlets, holds water and turns gutters into planters.

Good gutter guard installation depends on the roof. Guards that slide under shingles can void a shingle warranty or lift the first course in high wind, and tile roofs need a guard that does not disturb the tile or its underlayment. As roofers, we choose a guard and attachment method that suits your roof edge.

We install guards on new seamless gutters or on existing gutters that are still in good shape. If your gutters need work first, we handle the gutter repair and cleaning before the guards go on.

Types of gutter guards and leaf guards

No single gutter cover is perfect for every home. These are the main options we install and when each makes sense.

Micro-mesh guards

A fine stainless steel mesh over an aluminum frame. Blocks leaves, seeds and most roof grit while letting heavy rain through. Our usual recommendation for homes under trees.

Perforated aluminum covers

Rigid aluminum panels with punched holes. Stronger than screens and good at shedding leaves, though smaller debris can still pass through.

Screen leaf guards

Budget-friendly screens that stop large leaves and palm debris. They need occasional brushing off and are best where trees are light.

Reverse-curve gutter covers

Solid covers that curve water around a lip and into the gutter. They shed debris well but can overshoot in the heaviest downpours, so placement matters.

Our gutter guard installation process

A typical home takes a few hours to one day, depending on the length of the gutters.

Inspect and measure

We check the gutters, fascia and roof edge and recommend a guard that fits your roof type and trees.

Clean and repair

Gutters and downspouts are cleaned and flushed. Loose hangers and leaking seams are fixed first.

Install guards

Guards are cut to fit, secured to the gutter and set so they do not disturb tile or lift shingles.

Water test

We run water over the roof edge to confirm the guards let water through and the downspouts flow.

Are gutter guards worth it in Pompano Beach?

For many homes, yes. If you have trees near the roof, a two-story home that is hard to reach, or gutters that clog several times a year, guards cut down on cleaning and help prevent overflow during summer storms.

Gutter guards are low maintenance, not no maintenance. Pollen, fine grit and tiny seeds can build up on top of any guard, so a light rinse or check once or twice a year keeps them working. Our roof protection plans include gutter cleaning and a roof check if you would rather have us handle it.

Gutter guard questions

Do gutter guards work with tile roofs?

Yes, when the right style is used. We avoid guards that tuck under tile or disturb the underlayment and instead attach them to the gutter itself.

Can gutter guards cause roof leaks?

They can if they are installed under shingles in a way that lifts them or breaks the seal. We install guards so the roof covering is not disturbed.

Do I still need gutter cleaning with guards?

Much less often. Most homes with guards need a quick check and rinse once or twice a year instead of a full cleaning several times a year.

Can you add guards to my existing gutters?

Yes, if the gutters are in good condition and pitched correctly. If not, we recommend repairing or replacing them first so the guards are not covering a problem.
